Community Service

One of the first projects taken up by Lorna Phillips on her arrival in Jamaica was to become an active participator in the Reverence for Life movement launched from South Camp Rehabilitation Centre, a maximum security facility in Kingston. Her work with in-mates convinced her of the necessity for the professional and business communities in Jamaica to remain in close contact with and render support to communities in need in order to foster a stronger sense of well-being for self and others. This work continues with the firm's support of the St. Andrew Parish Church Home for Girls. The home was one of the stops Iyanla Vanzant made during her visit to Jamaica in 2005 and the team at Nicholson Phillips makes regular visits to the girls to provide mentoring and support; this along with gifts and games helps to foster a greater sense of community between the team members and the girls at the home.
